Balangir, July 7 {UDN}: The Balangir district administration and the Education Department jointly organised a district-level felicitation ceremony at the auditorium of Bhima Bhoi Medical College on Friday to honour outstanding students who excelled in this year’s board examinations.
A total of 211 meritorious students who secured A1 grades in the High School Certificate (HSC) Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, and the CBSE Board examinations were felicitated with certificates and awards in recognition of their academic excellence.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Health, Parliamentary Affairs, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Debaki Sahu, District Collector Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar, Additional District Magistrate Dr. Bijayananda Sethi, District Education Officer Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra, Additional District Education Officers Prabir Kumar Panda, Rina Behera, and Sebashree Bhoi.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo said that the youth are the true wealth of the nation and the state. He expressed confidence that these talented students would play a vital role in building a prosperous and developed Odisha in the years to come.
Dr. Mukesh Mahaling congratulated the students on their remarkable achievements and acknowledged the invaluable sacrifices of parents and the dedicated guidance of teachers in shaping their success.
District Education Officer Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra delivered the welcome address, while Additional District Education Officer Prabir Kumar Panda proposed the vote of thanks. During the programme, the distinguished guests presented certificates of appreciation and awards to the A1-grade achievers, encouraging them to pursue greater academic and professional accomplishments in the future.
