Kerala, May 25: A major announcement by the Chief Minister of Kerala
Free travel in government buses announced for women in the state.
Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan made the announcement in the first Cabinet meeting.
A separate government department will be formed for the protection and welfare of senior citizens.
Women’s empowerment and services for senior citizens will be among the government’s top priorities.
The monthly honorarium of ASHA workers has been increased by ₹3,000.
The monthly honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers has also been increased by ₹1,000.
