Bhubaneswar, Aug 1 [UDN}: The water levels of rivers flowing through northern Odisha have started gradually decreasing today. However, the hardships faced by people in the post-flood situation have begun to increase. Due to the floods, a total of 5,87,822 people in five districts of the state have been affected.
With the rising water level of the Mahanadi River, concerns among people living in low-lying areas have increased. Meanwhile, Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari conducted an aerial survey by helicopter to review the flood situation.
The Minister inspected the flood-affected and waterlogged areas of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Keonjhar districts from the air and carried out a detailed assessment of the situation. The assessment of the damage caused by the floods will begin after the floodwaters completely recede.
