Residents of Daleiguda Demand Bypass Road and Railway Station to Boost Connectivity in Pappadahandi

Pappadahandi, March 28: A meeting was held on Monday at the Nilakantheswar Temple premises in Pappadahandi, Nabarangpur district, under the chairmanship of Rural Citizens’ Committee President B. Jagan Mohan Rao.
Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi attended as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Block Vice-Chairman Sushant Behera, Executive President Shiv Prasad Agrawal, Hari Mohan Sharma, and Tehsildar Tapan Kumar Nayak.
During the meeting, the committee submitted demands for the construction of a bypass road and a railway station at Daleiguda. It was pointed out that National Highway 26, declared from Bargarh to Borigumma, passes through Pappadahandi. For road widening, shops and houses on both sides have been marked for eviction, which may deprive many people of their livelihood.
Regarding the proposed railway line from Junagarh to Jeypore, land has been identified at Malatiguda village for setting up a railway station for Pappadahandi. However, Malatiguda is located about 8 kilometers away from Pappadahandi, which may cause inconvenience to local residents in commuting to the station.
Therefore, villagers have demanded that the railway station be constructed at Daleiguda along the National Highway for better accessibility. The MP discussed the matter with the Tehsildar and the NH junior engineer and assured that he would inform the concerned minister about the need for a bypass or ring road and make efforts to resolve the issue.
He also discussed the railway station matter with railway authorities and personally visited Daleiguda to inspect the proposed site. Members of the Citizens’ Committee and several villagers were present at the meeting.
