Malkangiri, May 25: In a tribal region, a foreign variety of mango is being grown, priced at nearly ₹2 lakh per kilogram.
Large crowds are gathering just to see the mangoes. The farmer has been losing sleep worrying about protecting the crop.
However, due to the lack of proper marketing and selling facilities, the farmer is now under stress.
The famous Japanese Miyazaki mango is being cultivated in Tamasa village of Malkangiri district.
While this mango has huge demand in international markets, it is now being successfully grown in Malkangiri. But because there is no proper system or arrangement to sell these premium mangoes, the farmer is facing serious concerns.
