New Delhi, Feb 9: Ramacivil India has announced that it has undertaken the construction of a state-of-the-art Boys’ Hostel at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, one of India’s most prestigious technical institutions. Valued at ₹166.20 crore, the project marks a significant contribution to Jharkhand’s educational infrastructure and reinforces Ramacivil India’s expertise in large-scale institutional construction.

The hostel complex is being developed over a built-up area spanning approximately 5.53 acres and comprises a 10-storeyed structure designed to accommodate 800 students. The project reflects a contemporary approach to campus residential planning, integrating functionality, sustainability, and student well-being in line with the standards of a premier IIT campus.

The hostel has been thoughtfully designed with multiple residential wings, ensuring optimal space utilization, natural light, and ventilation. Each wing balances privacy with community living, creating an environment conducive to academic focus while promoting social interaction. Recreational, administrative, and utility spaces are seamlessly integrated to support a holistic residential ecosystem.

Key Design and Infrastructure Features

The ground floor houses critical infrastructure including a centrally monitored Building Management System (BMS) and Fire Control Room, administrative offices, a Warden Room, and a dedicated visitor waiting area to ensure efficient operations and enhanced safety.

Student-centric common amenities include a cafeteria, two TV rooms, and an indoor recreation zone equipped with four table tennis tables, encouraging community engagement beyond academic hours. Outdoor facilities include three badminton courts, landscaped green courtyards with water bodies, and dedicated parking spaces for bicycles and two-wheelers, reinforcing a sustainable campus lifestyle.

The hostel also features washrooms with provisions for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), an underground water tank, and well-planned utility infrastructure. The typical residential floors are efficiently laid out with 10 rooms per wing on each floor, accommodating 20 beds per wing and a total capacity of 800 beds. To support daily living and hygiene, each floor includes two drying balconies per wing, amounting to 80 drying balconies across the complex, ensuring adequate ventilation and functional utility.

By undertaking this prestigious assignment, Ramacivil India further strengthens its portfolio of large-scale institutional projects, reaffirming its commitment to nation-building through robust, future-ready educational infrastructure.
