Bhubaneswar, May 06: Concerns are rising over a possible cyclone formation in May.
According to the American-based international weather model GFS weather model, a system may develop over the Bay of Bengal.
The system is likely to approach the coast between May 14–16
There is a possibility of it moving towards the Odisha coast
Based on pressure patterns, it could intensify into a strong cyclone
However, there are important cautions:
No other weather models have supported this prediction so far
The India Meteorological Department has not issued any official forecast or warning yet
Weather experts say conditions are favorable for a low-pressure system to form, but it is too early to confirm whether it will turn into a cyclone.
👉 In short: Stay alert, but don’t panic—this is only an early-stage prediction.
