Padma Shri Deviprasanna Pattanayak Honored with Prestigious Prachi Sahitya Samman

Cuttack, April 10:: Eminent linguist Deviprasanna Pattanayak was honored with the Prachi Sahitya Samman by the Prachi Anusthan. The award, along with a citation and memento, was presented at his residence in Bhubaneswar.
Padma Shri Pattanayak’s contribution to securing classical language status for the Odia language is considered unparalleled. His research-based writings and intellectual works have given new direction to the language. Some of his notable works include Kabilipi, Sahityabiksha, Odia Bhasha O Bhasha Bigyan, Bachana Shataka, Bhasha O Sahitya, Kis Puni Dekhanajaye, Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan, and Odia Sahityara Bibidhata.
The meeting was chaired by Mandakini Das. Among the guests were Nirod Kumar Mantri, Ajit Kumar Mohapatra, and Mrinalini Das. Advisor Shyamamani Devi delivered a congratulatory message, and Secretary Bibhudatta Khandayataray expressed the vote of thanks.
