New Building at Community Health Centre Inaugurated to Strengthen Healthcare Services and Improve Patient Facilities

Bhawanipatna, May 15: Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling visited Kalahandi district today on a day-long tour. During his visit, he inspected the Vishwanathpur hospital and inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Borda Community Health Centre.
He also virtually inaugurated the Mohangiri, Bandhakana, and Artal hospitals along with 13 ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) centres. Later in the evening, he attended a review meeting at the Circuit House to assess the healthcare services in the district.
The programmes were attended by Dharamgarh MLA Sudhir Ranjan Pattjoshi, District Collector Sachin Prakash Pawar, the Chief District Medical Officer, the Dean of the Medical College, and several officials from the Health Department.
Earlier, Dr. Mahaling had attended a party meeting at Lanjigarh, where he informed people about various welfare initiatives undertaken by the state government.
However, several sections of the public reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over the administration’s fixed schedule, under which the Health Minister travelled nearly 200 kilometres from the district headquarters to Lanjigarh and then to Borda throughout the day, only to attend four programmes.
People discussed that if the review meeting had been conducted either near the district headquarters or after completing visits to Lanjigarh or Borda areas, the minister might have gained a clearer understanding of the actual condition of the healthcare system in the district. Instead, since much of the time was spent travelling and the review meeting was held in a limited timeframe, there is public speculation that the administration may have attempted to conceal healthcare-related issues, including jaundice-related problems in the district.
