Nabarangpur, Feb, 10:   A destitute and abandoned woman was rescued by members of Nari Shakti Sangh from the Patramunda forest area near the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Nabarangpur.

Local cattle herders informed that the woman had been lying in a pitiable condition inside the forest for several days. Following this, a person named Riaz Sharif contacted Nari Shakti Sangh and social worker Sirajuddin Ahmed, who is also the President of the District Bar Association, to take necessary steps for her rescue.

After receiving the information, Nari Shakti Sangh President Swarnalata Pattnaik, members Sama Ahmed, Farha Begum, and Sakila Begum, along with District Bar Association President Sirajuddin Ahmed and Riazuddin Sharif, reached the spot and initiated the rescue process. They also contacted Rama Pattnaik, Program Officer of the One Stop Centre “Sakhi.”

The woman was taken by ambulance to the One Stop Centre located within the premises of Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital. There, she was cleaned and provided with food and care. After administering necessary primary treatment, steps will be taken to keep her in a suitable shelter, informed Ms. Rama Pattnaik.
