Nabarangpur, April 18: A grand procession was organized by Hindu Ekta Bahini on the occasion of Pana Sankranti and Hanuman Jayanti, drawing massive participation and उत्साह across the town.
The procession featured vibrant tableaux from Raipur and Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh, performances like Aghori and Mahakali dances, and traditional dhol from Maharashtra. Around 20 Nama Sankirtan groups from different parts of the state also took part.
Starting at around 4 PM, the procession witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including MP Balabhadra Majhi, MLA and District Planning Board Chairman Gouri Shankar Majhi, Municipality Chairman Kunu Nayak, former MP Parsuram Majhi, BJP District President Kunjabihari Das, and other prominent leaders.
The procession began from Chamuriaguda and concluded at the old Mandei ground, with participation of nearly 20,000 devotees. The event was efficiently managed by organizers including Goura Sahu, Ananta Panda, and others, with support from members of Hindu Ekta Bahini.
Security arrangements were overseen by ASP Aditya Sen, SDPO Krushna Chandra Bhatra, and IIC Sambit Kumar Behera, while administrative responsibilities were handled by Executive Officer Dr. Ashok Kumar Karna and Tahasildar Bholeshwar Nayak.
On this occasion, festivals like Odia New Year, Pana Sankranti, Hanuman Jayanti, and Meru Sankranti were celebrated with great devotion. Special पूजा rituals were held at various temples including Maa Landaragharani Temple, Ram Mandir, Jagannath Temple, Hanuman Temple, and Shiva temples.
Devotees thronged temples such as Chamuriaguda Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple, Ram Mandir, Tirupati Balaji Temple, and Bhagabat Sahi Hanuman Temple. Hundreds of devotees recited the Hanuman Chalisa 108 times.
Arrangements for devotees included distribution of Anna Prasad and Pana, with active involvement from municipal authorities including Chairman Kulu Nayak, Councillor A. Satish, and others.
