Koraput, May 20: A district-level Steering Committee meeting on Solid Waste Management was held under the chairmanship of the Collector of Koraput district. The meeting focused on effective waste collection, segregation, disposal, and maintaining cleanliness across urban and rural areas of the district.
During the meeting, various departments reviewed the ongoing waste management activities and discussed measures to improve sanitation infrastructure and public awareness. Emphasis was laid on scientific disposal of solid waste, reduction of plastic usage, and strengthening door-to-door waste collection systems.
The District Collector urged all concerned officials to work in coordination for successful implementation of solid waste management initiatives. Stress was also given on community participation, environmental protection, and creating a cleaner and healthier district.
