Joint Public Grievance Hearing Camp Successfully Held at Dabugaon Block, Providing Citizens a Platform to Raise Issues Before District Officials

Raighar Aug 1 [UDN}: A joint public grievance hearing camp was held at the conference hall of Dabugaon Block in Nabarangpur district under the joint chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain and Superintendent of Police Kashyap Partha Jagadish.
Several senior officials attended the camp, including Additional District Magistrate (General) Dr. Pramod Kumar Prusty, Divisional Forest Officer Udayan Subudhi, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, Excise Superintendent Pratap Dash, In-charge District Panchayat Officer Padmanabh Tripathy, CDPO Minati Dash, Dabugaon BDO Samir Kumar Patra, In-charge Medical Officer of Dabugaon Community Health Centre Dr. Shubhashish Sahu, Dabugaon Police Station IIC Lachhim Paraja, Block Education Officer Rashmita Netam, Block Agriculture Officer Sudeshna Dhal, Dabugaon Forest Range Officer Ramachandra Bhatra, Junior Engineer of Rural Development Department Harekrushna Raut, Assistant Horticulture Officer Ravishankar Panda, Block Welfare Extension Officer Aditya Narayan Rath, Supply Inspector Sipra Samal, GPDO Padmanabh Bhalla and other district and block-level officials.
A total of 23 complaints were received during the hearing. Among them, 16 were individual complaints and 7 were related to community/village issues.
Out of the complaints received, two cases were resolved on the spot, while approval was given to provide Red Cross assistance to one applicant. The remaining 21 complaints were registered on the public grievance portal and forwarded to the concerned departments for disposal within the stipulated time frame.
During the occasion, the District Collector instructed the concerned officials to ensure quick and quality resolution of public grievances and complete the disposal process within the prescribed deadline.
Meanwhile, members of the Dabugaon Block Women’s Federation, led by President Bimala Paik and in the presence of district advisor Rajesh Jani, submitted a memorandum demanding a ban on the sale of country liquor and foreign liquor in villages.
They particularly highlighted the need to stop the production and sale of illegal liquor in various villages of Bada Olma area. Excise Superintendent Pratap Dash assured that the Excise Department and Police Department would take necessary action, intensify patrolling, and ensure strict enforcement to curb illegal liquor activities.
