Bhubaneswar, Dec 9: Asia-Pacific’s leading payments infrastructure company iServeU is reshaping the future of high-value technology careers in Odisha, positioning Bhubaneswar as a fast-rising global fintech hub. At a time when thousands of engineering graduates from the state migrate annually to cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune for employment, iServeU has built a contrasting model—developing complete fintech capabilities from Bhubaneswar itself and generating large-scale employment for local talent.

Odisha is home to over 276 engineering colleges and produces thousands of graduates every year. However, nearly 33 percent of youth in the 18–35 age group remain distanced from the workforce due to limited local employment opportunities. According to estimates by migration research bodies, nearly 17 lakh workers from the state migrate to other regions annually. The long-standing perception that advanced fintech jobs are available only in metro cities has been a major factor driving this outward migration.

Challenging this trend, iServeU was founded in Bhubaneswar in 2016 with a clear commitment to invest in local engineering talent instead of moving operations to a metro city. Through advanced training in critical domains such as payment switching, card management systems, EMV protocols, ISO 8583 standards, and embedded banking platforms, the company has successfully trained and deployed more than 1,000 payment technology engineers so far.

In recent years, iServeU has developed payment infrastructure solutions for over 20 banks and more than 250 enterprises across India and overseas, firmly placing Odisha on the global fintech innovation map.

“We never accepted the belief that world-class financial technology can only be built from India’s metro cities,” said Debiprasad Sahoo, Founder and CEO of iServeU. “Odisha is home to exceptional engineering talent. With the right opportunities and training, they can successfully build complex, mission-critical financial systems at a global scale.”

Industry observers say iServeU’s journey is more than just a technology success story—it reflects the expanding scope of knowledge-driven employment in Odisha. The company’s growth highlights that innovation is no longer confined to Tier-1 cities. Instead, Tier-2 cities like Bhubaneswar are steadily emerging as important centers for innovation, talent retention, and national financial inclusion.
