Jeypore, July 24 UDN}: As per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and the Odisha State Legal Services Authority, a Special Lok Adalat was held at the District Headquarters Court premises in Jeypore under the supervision of Koraput-Jeypore District and Sessions Judge and District Legal Services Authority Chairman, Pradeep Kumar Mahant.
The Special Lok Adalat exclusively dealt with cheque bounce cases, which were resolved through mutual compromise between the parties. District and Sessions Judge Pradeep Kumar Mahant, Permanent and Continuous Lok Adalat Judge Pradyumayi Sujata, and First-Class Judicial Magistrate Haramohan Das, among others, were present and disposed of the cases.
Advocates J. Satyanarayan Acharya and Rakhi Bai, among others, assisted the Lok Adalat benches in the proceedings. Out of a total of 16 pending cases, 10 cases were disposed of, with a settlement amount of ₹27,61,961 fixed.
