Kothar, April 10:: Gopal from Sorishadi village under Chudakuti Panchayat in Dhamnagar block is making a mark with his exceptional talent in sand art.
Not only in sand sculpting, he is also skilled in painting and has created lifelike sculptures of various great personalities and leaders. His extraordinary talent, nurtured from the soil of his village, has earned him recognition at the national level, including awards in the capital, Delhi.
With the touch of his hands, he brings sand to life, and today his work is appreciated across Odisha and even abroad. Gopal developed an interest in sand art from childhood, inspired by his grandfather. Through hard work and dedication, he has established a distinct identity in this field and earned respect and recognition.
However, due to the lack of proper infrastructure and government support, the growth of this art form faces challenges. Gopal expressed that with adequate support and encouragement from the government, sand art could be developed into a professional field.
