Bhubaneswar, July 9 [UDN}: East Coast Railway is further enhancing railway safety through technology-driven initiatives. More than 500 solar-powered CCTV cameras have already been successfully installed at sensitive and vulnerable locations across its network.
The surveillance system is designed to improve security, monitor critical railway assets, and help prevent theft, trespassing, and other safety-related incidents. By using solar-powered cameras, the railway also promotes sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure.
East Coast Railway has set an ambitious target of installing over 2,000 solar-powered CCTV cameras by October 2026. This initiative is expected to significantly strengthen round-the-clock monitoring, improve passenger safety, and enhance the overall security of railway operations.
