Bhubaneswar, March, 10: The ‘Crop Residue and Fallow Land Management’ (CRFM) program, launched by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Odisha, has turned into a successful people’s movement in Balangir district.
This year, rabi crops such as green gram (moong), black gram (biri), and khesari have been cultivated on approximately 32,000 hectares of post-paddy fallow land in the district. More than
1,000 clusters have been formed across various blocks, and cultivation is being carried out using scientific methods.
Arrangements have been made to provide farmers with quality seeds and other necessary agricultural inputs.
The continuous efforts of the Agriculture Department and the cooperation of farmers have given a new direction to the rural economy of the district
