Census of India begins nationwide to collect comprehensive data on population, housing, and socio-economic indicators

Bhubaneswar, April 17: The first phase of the census will begin in the state from Thursday. The Directorate of Census has made extensive preparations for this. The census work, which will continue from April 16 to May 15, will be properly conducted with the deployment of 90,200 enumerators and 15,140 supervisors.
In the first phase, house listing, numbering, and detailed information about the head of the household will be collected.
90,200 census officials will go door to door to count houses.
They will ask about how people are living and what they are eating.
The Census Directorate has clarified that schools should not be closed in the name of census work.
According to official information, each enumerator has been assigned to collect data from about 800 people. For this, each of them will have to survey around 200 to 220 houses.
They will visit every lane and locality, count houses, and assign house numbers.
