Malkangiri, April. 30:: The birth anniversary of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das was celebrated by the Malkangiri district unit of Utkal Sammilani under the leadership of President Dushmanta Kumar Jena.
At the beginning of the program, floral tributes were offered to the statue of Madhusudan Das at the Circuit House premises in the district headquarters. President Jena, Vice-President and intellectual Lambodhar Turuk, Advisor Prakash Chandra Pattnaik, and retired teacher Niranjan Panda paid homage by lighting incense and lamps.
During the discussion, President Jena described Madhubabu’s life as representing half a century of Odisha’s history and emphasized that his birth anniversary should be celebrated across every corner of the state. Among others, Chitta Sarkar, Surendra Kumar Mallik, Babaji Charan Swain, and Saroj Pattnaik were present.
Similarly, the birth anniversary was also observed at the office of the Retired Government Employees’ Association in Malkangiri under the अध्यक्षता of President Bala Raju Padhi. On this occasion, chief speaker Prakash Chandra Pattnaik highlighted Odisha’s geographical condition in 1903 and shed light on lesser-known aspects of Madhusudan Das’s childhood and political life.
Vice-President Surendra Kumar Mallik and Secretary Ashok Samal also delivered brief speeches on his life and contributions. Several distinguished members, including Jagannath Tiadi, Abhimanyu Behera, Bichitrananda Rout, K. Shiv Shankar Patra, Lingaraj Senapati, Ladukishore Panda, Giridhari Panigrahi, Nabakumar Sahu, Kalu Charan Maharana, and S. Veeraswamy, were present on the occasion.
