Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Presents Rs1,050 Crore Budget

Bhubaneswar,  March, 9:The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has presented a Rs1,050 crore budget for the financial year 2026–27.
The special budget session of BMC was held at Ekamra Hall in Bhubaneswar. According to the presented budget, the civic body has set a target to collect ₹300 crore as its own revenue in the upcoming financial year.
In addition, Rs750 crore is expected to be received as grants from the Central and State governments.
Previously, BMC has largely depended on grants from the Central and State governments. In earlier years, there was no specific condition attached to these grants, but now the government has set a target of 12.65percentannual revenue growth.
This means that BMC must increase its own revenue during the current financial year to continue receiving government grants.
