Awareness Drive Launched for Odia Nameplates During Odia Paksha

Nabarangpur, April 10:On the occasion of Odia Paksha, a large awareness rally titled “Odia Nameplate Campaign” was launched near the statue of B. R. Ambedkar in Nabarangpur.
The campaign was inaugurated by local MLA and District Planning Board Chairman Gouri Shankar Majhi and District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain, who flagged off the rally.
Organized under the direct supervision of District Labour Officer Chhotaray Tudu, the program saw the presence of Chief Development Officer (Zilla Parishad) Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Municipality Chairperson Kunu Nayak, District Education Officer Chhatrapati Sahu, District Welfare Officer Palaka Rabindra, District Culture Officer Ghasia Harijan, and District Information & Public Relations Officer Manoj Behera.
The 14-day “Odia Paksha” campaign aims to ensure that all government and private institutions, shops, markets, and business establishments in the district give priority to the Odia language on their nameplates and branding.
The campaign has been extended across all blocks and urban areas of the district. The administration has urged the public and business associations to display nameplates in Odia as a symbol of the identity and pride of the Odia community.
Officials, members of Utkal Sammilani, trade unions, chambers of commerce, and labour department staff actively participated in the awareness rally.
