Annual Function of Sahid Laxman Nayak Kala Parishad Celebrated with Cultural Fervour

Mathili,May 14:: The 10th annual function of Sahid Laxman Nayak Kala Parishad was celebrated at Mathili, the land of martyrs in Malkangiri district, under the leadership of the organization’s president and young journalist Basant Sagarika.
During this annual celebration, the Kala Parishad presented a two-night fictional drama featuring local artists. In the first night of the drama, popular Odia television serial actress Sonali Nayak was the main attraction. She entertained the audience greatly through her artistic performance.
Before the drama presentation, several dignitaries attended the event. The chief guest of the program was Sasmita Majhi, Zilla Parishad Zone-3 member from Mathili. Other guests included Deb Prasad Dash, president of MUJE; Bandhu Muduli, district president of the Tribal Federation; Sarat Chandra Maharana, block secretary of the Tractor Union; senior journalist Shiba Prasad Ghada Kirtaniya; Pur Dura, block president of the Narasingha Dom Samaj; and senior citizen M. Raban Bana, among others. They inaugurated the 10th annual function of Sahid Laxman Nayak Kala Parishad by lighting a ceremonial lamp in front of Lord Jagannath and cutting the ribbon.
Several other dignitaries such as drama director Dilip Kumar Rout, assistant teacher Pratiswini Jena of Kiang Higher Secondary School, state-level para-athlete gold medalist Rahul Kumar, cultural enthusiast M. Ravan Aiyar, Tribal Mahasangh district president Bandhu Muduli, organization advisor Pratap Kumar Mohanty, chief collaborators Chintamani Bisoi, Narayan Choudhury, and Suranjan Ojha were felicitated with mementos and shawls by the guests.
A large crowd gathered to watch the fictional drama organized by the Kala Parishad featuring local artists. Kunal Sahu managed the stage, while other members of the organization extended full cooperation for the smooth conduct of the program.
Considering the huge gathering of spectators, Mathili police station officer-in-charge Deepanjali Pradhan deployed a large number of police personnel to maintain law and order.
