Dhusuri, 23: A grand literary memorial ceremony was held at the premises of the Hrudananda Library in Dhusuri under the banner of the ‘Dr. Shankar Prasad Das Memorial Committee’.
On this occasion, noted social worker of Odisha, Amit Kumar Mallik, was conferred with this year’s Memorial Honour. He was awarded for his significant contribution in the field of publicity, media, and for upholding the healthy tradition of journalism.
He was felicitated by the committee with a bouquet, an Uttariya (traditional scarf), and a commemorative plaque.
The ceremony was primarily conducted under the leadership of the committee convenor and senior journalist Santosh Das. Several distinguished journalists and guests including Ratikanta Nayak, Kalinga Nayak, Arundhati Parida, Lakshmi Narayan Mishra, and Ananta Sahu attended the event as honoured guests.
Speakers at the event paid tribute to Dr. Shankar Prasad Das, recalling his social service and noble personality, and also highlighted the role of journalism in contemporary society.
A large number of local dignitaries, intellectuals, and literature enthusiasts attended the programme, making the event a grand success.
