Malkangiri, April 23: Under a significant initiative by the district administration of Malkangiri and the Women & Child Development Department, 17 couples were married through the “Chief Minister’s Kanya Vivah Yojana”.
The mass marriage ceremony was conducted following Vedic rituals. Each newlywed couple received financial assistance of ₹45,000, along with a marriage registration certificate.
Additionally, to promote environmental protection, each couple was gifted a fruit-bearing tree.
