Bhubaneswar, Sept 28 [UDN}:The School and Mass Education Department has issued guidelines for the organisation of the state-level children’s festival “Surabhi-2026.” Preparations for the annual event have begun at the school, block and district levels, with a wide range of cultural, literary, artistic and innovative activities planned to provide students with opportunities to showcase and develop their talents.
This year’s theme for the festival is “Prosperous India: Empowered Odisha” (Samrudha Bharat: Samartha Odisha). The programme is aimed at encouraging students to explore their creativity, hone their skills and develop leadership qualities through active participation in various competitions and activities.
The festival will provide a platform for schoolchildren to demonstrate their abilities in culture, literature, art, innovation and other creative fields. Through the different stages of the event, students will get opportunities to interact, compete and learn while gaining confidence and exposure beyond the regular classroom environment.
The department’s initiative is expected to encourage the holistic development of students by giving equal importance to creativity, talent, communication, teamwork and leadership. The district, block and school-level programmes will form the foundation for participation in the state-level Surabhi-2026 festival.
