Malkangiri Sept 22 [UDN}: Demonstrating its commitment to humanitarian service and social responsibility, the Brahmapur Circle of Punjab National Bank (PNB) has donated a hearse van to the Malkangiri district administration.
The vehicle was formally handed over to the district administration by Malkangiri MLA Narsingh Madkami at a special programme held on Saturday. Malkangiri Collector-cum-District Magistrate Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke and PNB Brahmapur Circle Head Pratap Kumar Bairiganjan were among those present on the occasion.
The hearse van has been provided under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The facility is expected to provide much-needed assistance to people in Malkangiri, particularly residents of remote and interior areas who often face difficulties in transporting the bodies of deceased family members.
Given the challenging geographical conditions and limited transportation facilities in several parts of the district, the hearse van is expected to play an important role in ensuring dignified and timely transportation of bodies. The initiative will help reduce the difficulties faced by families during times of bereavement and provide support to people who are particularly vulnerable due to their remote location.
The donation reflects the bank’s efforts to contribute to community welfare beyond its regular banking services and support the district administration in addressing an important humanitarian need.
