KoraputSept 8 [UDN}: Koraput District Collector and District Magistrate Manoj Satyawan Mahajan reviewed various agriculture- and livestock-based livelihood programmes being implemented in different villages of Dashmantpur block in Koraput district.
The District Collector first visited Kauguda village, where he inspected the potato seed production fields and assessed the ongoing activities. He interacted with members of the “Maa Pathakhanda Producer Group” and discussed the development of agriculture, potato seed production and its future potential. Discussions were also held on plans to develop a horticulture hub in the village in the future.
Later, the District Collector visited Rajuguda village, where he inspected the 30+2 goat farming model being implemented by the “Maa Pathajhankar Producer Group.” He expressed satisfaction after observing that the goats under the model had been appropriately insured. He emphasized the need to expand this successful livestock farming model to other villages across the district so that more rural households can benefit from sustainable livelihood opportunities.
During the field visit, Koraput Zilla Parishad Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer Benudhar Sabar, local BDO Siddheshwar Naik, BVO Sudhakar Behera, Tahasildar Priya Pushpanjali Behera, CYSD APC Coordinator Ananda Kumar Mallik, Bhakta Sahu, and OLM Block Coordinator Firoz Kumar Lima, along with officials from various government departments and members of the CYSD APC team, were present.
The visit highlighted the administration’s focus on strengthening agriculture, horticulture, goat rearing and other livelihood-based activities at the grassroots level, while encouraging successful local models to be replicated across the district.
