Madhubabu Memorial Museum to Be Constructed on Shailabala Women’s College Campus

Bhubaneswar, Dec, 30:  The Madhubabu Memorial Museum will be constructed by the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture on the campus of Shailabala Women’s College.

In 1952, for the promotion of women’s education in Odisha, Shailabala Das donated her father, Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das’s residence, to be used for running the women’s college. At present, a part of the self-governed Shailabala Women’s College campus—where Madhusudan Das’s head office, meeting hall, and residential office were located during his time—has been selected by the government to be converted into the Madhubabu Memorial Museum.

Antyodaya Awas Mela Held at Kotpad Block Office

Kotpad, Dec, 30:  An Antyodaya Awas Mela was organized today at the Panchayat Samiti Office, Kotpad. On this occasion, 12 beneficiaries who had completed their houses were provided with financial assistance of Rs 20,000 each.

The mela was held in the presence of Panchayat Samiti Vice-Chairman Tapan Kumar Panigrahi and the Block Development Officer. Beneficiaries of Kotpad block who completed their houses within six months were specially recognized. A total of 21 beneficiaries were awarded an additional bonus of Rs 10,000 each for timely completion of their houses.

Assistant Executive Engineer Manoj Kumar Nayak and Junior Engineer Satya Narayan were present at the event. Beneficiaries from 17 Gram Panchayats under the Aryodaya/Antyodaya Awas scheme participated in the mela. GPO Sudhanshu Sekhar Rath and GPDO Kedarnath also attended.

During the mela, various queries of the beneficiaries were addressed, and other beneficiaries were encouraged to complete their houses at the earliest to avail the bonus. Information regarding the scheme and new guidelines was provided by BPC (RH), BPEA, and Panchayat-level officials.

The mela was attended by the Panchayat Samiti Chairperson, block officials, all sarpanches, samiti members, and other public representatives. Beneficiaries who completed their houses within four months were especially felicitated. Many housing scheme beneficiaries from different panchayats were present at the event.

Dedicated Service with a Spirit of Surrender Brings True Fulfilment: Speakers in Puri

Puri, Dec, 30:  Under the auspices of the Odisha Voluntary Organizations Federation, the District Voluntary Organizations Association organized the Odisha–2036 Vision: Developed Odisha conference along with the State-Level Utkalamani Seva Samman award ceremony at Sanskruti Bhavan, Puri.

The program was chaired by the Association President and former MLA Jayant Kanungo. Among those present on the dais were Deputy Director of the Information and Public Relations Department Santosh Kumar Sethi, former Municipal Chairman Gaurahari Pradhan, former President of the Puri Bar Association Bijay Kumar Mishra, Captain Sanjeev Kumar Muduli, Shri Mandir Managing Committee member Madhusudan Singhar, and Dr. Sangram Keshari Samantaray.

Speakers emphasized that “service to humanity is service to God,” and that service attains true fulfillment only when performed with dedication and a spirit of surrender. Presided over by Dharitri Sarangi, the guests expressed that selfless service brings inner joy and that true service always requires commitment and dedication.
Chief advisors of the organization, including Amarbar Dola, Chandamani Dei, and senior advocate Dhiren Ray, were present at the event. General Secretary Sandhyarani Rath presented details about the organization and the program.

On this occasion, volunteers and organizers from various parts of Odisha were felicitated. Renowned litterateur Shyam Prakash Senapati conducted the program. Organizer Lakshmi Narayan Das delivered the welcome address, while Krushna Chandra Das proposed the vote of thanks.

State-Level Utkalamani Seva Samman Presented in Puri

Puri, Dec, 30:  Under the auspices of the Puri District Voluntary Organizations Association, the State-Level Utkalamani Seva Samman ceremony was held at the local Sanskruti Bhavan.

Former MLA Jayant Kanungo, Deputy Director of the District Information and Public Relations Department Santosh Kumar Sethi, Jagannath culture researcher Professor Harihar Kanungo, State President and senior advocate Dhiren Ray, former councillors Manas Lenka and N. Balaram Reddy, President of the District Voluntary Organizations Association Chandamani Dei, and General Secretary Rina Ray attended the program as distinguished guests.

During the ceremony, 85 individuals from across the state were honored with the Utkalamani Seva Samman by the guests. Organization Secretary Lakshmi Narayan Das, District Secretary Sandhyarani Rath, executive members Krushna Chandra Das, Ramesh Chandra Mahanti, Soumya Mishra, and senior advocate Lala Ananta Kumar Singh extended their cooperation in organizing the event.

Voluntary Organizations Federation Conference Held in Puri

Puri, Dec, 30:  The Developed Odisha Conference of the District Voluntary Organizations Federation was held at Sanskruti Bhavan, Puri. Former MLA Jayant Kumar Sarangi inaugurated the conference.

Dhusuri Ayushman Arogya Mandir Honoured at Kothar

Kothar, Dec, 30:  The Dhusuri Ayushman Arogya Mandir under Dhamnagar block has been awarded the Best Jan Arogya Samiti Award by the Bhadrak District Health Society.
Bhadrak District Collector Dillip Rautaray and Bhadrak CDMO Dr. Sudhir Ranjan Nayak presented the award to the Community Health Officer of Dhusuri Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Sabyasachi Rout, and health workers Kamini Rani Majhi and Tapas Kumar Majhi.
On this occasion, Dhusuri Sarpanch and President of the Dhusuri Sub-Health Centre Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Antaryami Pati, met the officials of the District Health Society and the health officers and staff of the Dhusuri Sub-Health Centre and extended his congratulations.

Mothers’ Workshop Organized at Shishu Vidya Mandir, Kothar

Kothar, Dec, 30:  A Mothers’ Workshop was organized at Dhusuri Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir under Dhamnagar block. The workshop was held under the chairmanship of Headmaster Ramapada Rana.

Retired teacher Manoroma Rautaray attended the program as the chief guest and guided the participants on the important role of mothers in the upbringing and development of children. Sarojini Jena, head of the school’s Shishu Batika, introduced the guest, while teacher Ananya Hazara proposed the vote of thanks.

More than 30 mothers attended the workshop. Teachers Kalpana Devata, Damayanti Sahu, Rashmita Sahu, Radhasmita Muduli, Rashmita Behera, Pinkirani Majhi, Manini Sahu, Jayashree Dash, and Bhagyashree Dash coordinated and managed the program.

Focus on Child Marriage Eradication at District-Level Training Camp in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur, Dec, 30:  A district-level training camp under the 100-day Child Marriage-Free India Campaign was organized at the Mission Shakti Hall by the Association for Voluntary Action, under the supervision of the District Social Welfare Officer and with the initiative of Child Rights Associate Saurabh Upadhyay. Officials associated with the KMPO and PAV departments participated in the training.

Additional District Magistrate Tapan Kumar Khuntia attended the program as the chief guest and inaugurated it by lighting the ceremonial lamp. District Social Welfare Officer Draupadi Kanhar explained the objectives of the program and highlighted how collective efforts are needed to eradicate child marriage and to make all children aware of their rights. Protection Officer Rama Pattanayak provided detailed information about the 100-day program.

The key trainers included Kam Prasad Pattanayak, Vinay Kumar Pattanayak (Project Coordinator), President Modan Krishni, and Rama Shatanami. As child marriage is prevalent in Nabarangpur district, the main objective of this awareness and training camp was to make sincere efforts to free the district from child marriage. The trainers discussed the causes of child marriage, its prevention, and child protection mechanisms.

Knowledge Stop Centre Officer Kishori Pattanayak attended as a legal expert and explained that anyone involved in child marriage can face imprisonment of up to two years and a fine of up to one lakh rupees. She also shed light on various legal provisions related to child marriage.

Saurabh Upadhyay informed participants that this national campaign is being conducted for 100 days, from 27 November to 8 March. The CDPO of Nabarangpur discussed the framework and action plan to combat child marriage. Chief guest Tapan Kumar Khuntia emphasized that if every citizen of the district fulfills their responsibility and works together, Nabarangpur can be made child marriage-free. He assured that the district administration is always proactive in this effort.

Women Mentor Sasmita Patra presented a PowerPoint presentation on child marriage. Participants included administrators and counselors from Sakhi One Stop Centres, all CMPOs and wardens, PLI members, Anganwadi workers, child protection staff, members of the Child Welfare Committee, teachers from various schools, and CDPOs from Nabarangpur, Kosagumuda, Raighar, Jharigaon, and Chandahandi blocks.
At the end of the program, Women Cell Coordinator Sarita Pani delivered the vote of thanks.
