GoDaddy Launches 90-Day Automated SSL Certificates for Easy Website Security

Bengaluru, March 26, 2025 – GoDaddy has announced the launch of 90-day reissuance, fully installed and managed Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates with five encryption refreshes annually, making it the first certificate authority to offer this time-saving solution.

SSL certificates are essential for anyone with a website, especially small businesses, entrepreneurs and larger businesses. They protect sensitive customer data and maintain trust in online transactions. SSLs authenticate the identity of a website and encrypt information sent to the server.

Currently, many SSLs purchased from certificate authorities require manual re-installation over the lifecycle of a one-year certificate. This process can be time-consuming, require external support, and fall to the bottom of busy entrepreneurs’ to-do lists. Now, with a GoDaddy fully Managed SSL, a do-it-for-you service, customers no longer need to worry about these cumbersome steps. GoDaddy handles every aspect of SSL lifecycle management, from installation to issuance and renewal—delivering effortless website encryption and protection.

GoDaddy’s 90-day SSL certificates automatically renew and reinstall every three months, eliminating the manual steps typically required by other SSL solutions. This fully automated process not only reduces the burden for website owners but ensures continuous protection without disruption.

While 90-day certificates are not yet an industry requirement, GoDaddy recognizes the positive impact that SSLs with encryption that is refreshed five times per year will have on its customers’ business growth and privacy concerns. This also takes into account the role automation can play in ensuring the heavy lifting of re-installing the certificate more frequently is in the hands of the certificate provider. GoDaddy’s managed SSL certificate automates the entire process, meaning customers don’t have to manually select, install, or manage their 90-day SSL certificates, while getting the benefit of five encryption refreshes, annually.

“With over 100 million active SSL certificates, GoDaddy continues to lead the way in website security by delivering solutions that make online protection effortless,” said Apurva Palnitkar, Senior Director of Marketing at GoDaddy India. “The introduction of our automated 90-day SSL certificates, ahead of industry requirements, ensures businesses can maintain uninterrupted encryption without the burden of manual renewals. We are empowering businesses to stay secure effortlessly, allowing them to focus on growth while we handle their website security needs.”

VanHelsing RaaS: A New Emergence in the Ransomware Landscape

VanHelsing RaaS, a new ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS), was launched on March 7, 2025, and its rapid growth is raising alarms across the cyber security community. Within just two weeks of its introduction, VanHelsingRaaS has already managed to infect three known victims and create a more sophisticated variant, highlighting its potential to become a major player in the ransomware game.

For an in-depth understanding of VanHelsing RaaS, read Check Point Research’s comprehensive report here.

What is VanHelsing RaaS?

VanHelsingRaaS operates on a model that allows various participants—from seasoned hackers to newcomers—to take part in launching ransomware attacks. To join the affiliate program, participants are required to make a $5,000 deposit. Once in, affiliates can reap the rewards, as they keep a whopping 80% of the ransom payments, with only 20% going to the core operators. However, there is one imperative rule: affiliates are strictly prohibited from targeting systems in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Uniquely, the multi-platform ransomware supports various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, BSD, ARM, and ESXi systems. The broad compatibility significantly enhances its reach, making it a tempting option for affiliates seeking to capitalize on cyber extortion.

The Technology Behind VanHelsingRaaS

Check Point Research has identified two variants of the VanHelsing ransomware specifically targeting Windows systems. However, the program’s representatives boast a more extensive range of capabilities through an intuitive control panel designed to simplify the execution of ransomware attacks. Recently obtained samples indicate that the ransomware is being actively updated, with the latest version introducing new command-line arguments and features that reflect ongoing development.

The sophisticated nature of this ransomware, coupled with its user-friendly management tools, makes it appealing to both veteran hackers and those new to the cyber crime scene. The recent updates showcase its rapid evolution, further underlining the potential risks it poses.

Impact and Ransom Demands

VanHelsingRaaS has already made headlines by demanding substantial ransom payments from its victims. Reports indicate that during negotiations, affiliates have required as much as $500,000 to be transferred to a designated Bitcoin wallet. With the ability to encrypt files and demand exorbitant fees for decryption, its operational model is not only alarming for potential victims but also lucrative for those involved in the program.

Protecting your Orgniazation

As VanHelsingRaaS continues to grow and evolve, its impact on the cyber security landscape becomes increasingly significant. The combination of its enticing affiliate program, advanced technology, and broad system compatibility positions it as a formidable threat.

Check Point Threat Emulation and Harmony Endpoint provide strong protection against various threats by identifying malicious behavior before it affects networks. Threat Emulation detects unknown threats and zero-day vulnerabilities, while Harmony Endpoint allows users to access a secure version of files quickly, as the original files are examined thoroughly. This proactive strategy enhances security by ensuring quick access to safe content and effectively identifying and managing potential threats, preserving network integrity.

NURA Launches ‘NURA Express’ Mobile Health Screening in Kozhikode

Calicut/ Kozhikode, March 26 2025:– NURA, an advanced diagnostic venture between Fujifilm Healthcare and Dr Kutty’s Healthcare, has announced the launch of its mobile health screening facility, ‘NURA Express’, in Kozhikode, Kerala. This marks a significant expansion of NURA’s health screening service business in Kerala for the first time.

NURA’s global partner Fujifilm has been expanding the ‘NURA’ health screening centres, primarily in urban areas across several countries, to build an environment where more people can access high-quality health screening services. The newly-introduced NURA Express provides corporate health screenings in collaboration with local companies. The mobile unit will travel to the designated locations, offering cancer screenings and testing of lifestyle-related diseases through on-site CT scans for employees working in an office or factory or living in a particular residential area. The images captured in the NURA Express will then be remotely interpreted by the physicians stationed at the ‘NURA Global Innovation Centre’ in Kozhikode. The captured images and analyzed test results will be provided to people through a dedicated smartphone app.

In the future, NURA/ Fujifilm aims to partner with local self-governments to establish a system through which the NURA Express can provide municipal health screenings to residents in remote areas. This initiative will contribute significantly to the early detection of cancer and lifestyle diseases for a large number of people.

Commenting on the development, Dr Bilal Thangal T M, Medical Lead, NURA, said, “Cancer and lifestyle diseases, such as ischemic heart disease, remain among the leading causes of death worldwide. Health screenings play a crucial role not only in the early detection of these conditions—enabling timely intervention through treatment and health guidance—but also in disease prevention by fostering a deeper understanding of one’s health. However, in many emerging countries, access to health screening services remains limited, and the culture of preventive health checks is yet to be widely adopted. At NURA, in collaboration with Fujifilm, we are committed to expanding the reach of high-quality health screenings. Leveraging Fujifilm’s advanced medical imaging technology and AI-driven medical IT systems, we aim to deliver accurate and efficient screenings. By increasing accessibility to these services, we strive to enhance early detection, improve health outcomes, and contribute meaningfully to global healthcare advancement.”
